How safe is fluoride toothpaste?

1) Fluoride in drinking water hardens tooth enamel, but, contrary to what you have been told, it does not reduce cavities.  The New York state health department did a recent study.  Incidence of caries in two cities were compared.  The cities were identical in every respect except that one had fluoridation for 50 years while the other’s water supply was never fluoridated.  The cavity count, per capita, was identical.  It is probable than all cities experienced a reduction in dental caries at the same time due to a better educated populace in home dental care as a result of television watching.

2) Fluoride is a deadly poison that ranks between lead and arsenic in toxicity.

3) Fluoride is a toxic by-product of the aluminum smelting and fertilizer industries.

4) The symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are in close congruence with the symptoms of fluoride poisoning.  It is arguable that our near epidemic of ADHD-children is being caused by our drinking water.

5) The Merck Manual lists symptoms of fluoride poisoning that includes these:

Reticence and silence;
Sitting and saying nothing;
Resists no one, says nothing;
Fears nothing;
Self-satisfied.

The Nazis put fluoride into the drinking water of their labor and death camps because, paradoxically, it makes adults docile and easy to manage.

6)  The Russian Communists did the same thing in their gulags for the same reason.

7)  If fluoride is added to our municipal drinking water ostensibly in order to reduce cavities then it is a medication.  This means that whole city populations are being medicated without their informed consent.  I cannot imagine a bigger breach of medical ethics.

A state law, Article 4.1, title 22, of the California code of regulation, requires every community serving 10,000 or more water customers, if funding is available, to fluoridate their water.

9) North Coast cities fluoridating their water supplies are Eureka, Arcata, Scotia and Crescent City.  The decision to fluoridate or not is determined by decision of each community.

1/0)  Fluoridation has been banned or abandoned in Norway, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, France, Italy and West Germany.

Isn’t it time we took another look at this issue, not with a knee-jerk reaction or a distorted belief system, but with scientific and historical objectivity?
