According to a report by the Austrian Times, Anna Mackowiak, 34, faces three years in prison in Wroclaw, Poland for removing all of her boyfriend’s teeth after he dumped her for a new woman.
Mackowiak’s ex-boyfriend Marek Olszewski, 45, reportedly showed up to her office complaining of tooth pain just days after dumping her.
Machowiak admitted she was unable to maintain her professionalism and instead saw the visit as an opportunity to seek revenge.
“I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions,” she reportedly said. “But when I saw him lying there I just thought, ‘What a bastard’ and decided to take all his teeth out.”
Machowiak gave her ex a heavy dose of anesthesia — putting him to sleep, then plucked out all of his teeth. She then bandaged his head and jaw and when he woke up, told him he would need to see a specialist as there had been complications.
Marek said he suspected something was wrong the minute he woke up to find his mouth numb and bandaged but had no reason to suspect his ex-girlfriend had acted improperly.
“I didn’t have any reason to doubt her,” he admitted, “I mean I thought she was a professional.”
Marek said when he went home he was alarmed to find he was in fact toothless.
His new girlfriend has reportedly left him since the incident and he is now preoccupied with getting dentures to replace his missing teeth.
Machowiak is reportedly under investigation by the prosecutor for medical malpractice and abusing the trust of a patient.

A former model hanged himself after suffering years of crippling toothache, an inquest heard today.
Dorian Thomson, 41, who worked as a model and as an art director for a Japanese fashion company, suffered from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which causes increased elasticity in muscles and joint tissue.
But the court heard Mr Thomson, of north west London, suffered from toothache in every tooth for six years which he believed was triggered by a visit to the dentist, Westminster Coroner’s Court heard.

His friend Ross Illingworth told the court that, as a result of his condition, Mr Thomson suffered from sleep deprivation and a lack of nutrients as he was unable to eat properly ‘because of damage to his teeth’.
He said: ‘He was in an enormous amount of pain, almost all of his jaw suffered from tooth ache. [The pain] was unceasing… For the last few years of his life he was taking morphine.’
Mr Illingworth, 41, who had been friends with Mr Thomson for ten years, said he had been helping him put together ‘evidence concerning the orthodontistry which left him with his teeth in that condition’ in the time before his death.
Mr Illingworth was due to meet him on December 7 last year but arrived at his friend’s flat in Maida Vale to find him hanged.
He told the court: ‘He was hugely outgoing. He very much enjoyed the social life and social activities. He was previously a model and a model booker and a large amount of that job is social and he thrived on that. He was a high-flyer.’
Mr Thomson had previously attempted to take an overdose.
Mr Thomson eventually hanged himself after suffering crippling toothache for years, the inquest heard
‘I talked to Dorian about it and given the amount of medication, he was trying to end his life’, said Mr Thomson.
He was in ‘more pain than anyone could ever conceive of for about six years’, he added, and ‘in addition to his tooth ache from every single tooth he suffered from Temporomandibular joint disorder. It meant that there was no support from his jaw and the jaw joint had been worn down.’
By the time of his death, he said, Mr Thomson had become antisocial thanks to ‘the onslaught of pain’.
He described his body as feeling like it ‘had pins in it’ when he walked, which would cause ‘grievous amounts of pain’.
He told the inquest Mr Thomson, who turned on the Regent Street Christmas lights in 1999, had spoken about contacting Swiss assisted dying group Dignitas.
‘Given the degenerative nature of his condition and the complete lack of help that he was being given, he wanted to know that there was a way out,’ said Mr Illingworth.
Recording a verdict of hanging, adding that Mr Thomson killed himself ‘while his mind was disturbed’, Coroner Dr William Dolman said he was ‘a man suffering from a number of serious medical problems.
He had the genetic disorder EDS and the orthodontic treatments had not been successful.
‘He was a man in severe, constant pain for many years… He clearly had been a highly successful, outgoing man, but retreated into himself… he had issues with the unsuccessful treatment he had with orthodontics.’

He added: ‘This intelligent man knew he had come to the end of his tether. A man with no way out of his predicament but to end his life.’
Mr Illingworth said outside court Mr Thomson had undergone treatment to realign his jaw.
He said: ‘The EDS was triggered by orthodontic treatment and when that went wrong the orthodontist dumped him and refused to deal with him anymore. Other orthodontists were refusing to treat him and his condition deteriorated.
‘We believe there is systematic failure in the knowledge of EDS. We have to improve knowledge of it and get testing for it before orthodontistry or any form of surgery. That was Dorian’s wish, that nobody should ever go through it again.’
His partner of 12 years, Susan Millard, 48, added: ‘I want to raise awareness of this. If any person can be prevented from going through what he went through it is worth it.’

ST. PAUL, MN – By the virtue of the fact that four of Chris Kelly’s front-and-center teeth are already false Chiclets, undergoing emergency dental work isn’t anything he hasn’t endured before.
But it was still a tough Saturday afternoon in Minnesota for the B’s third line center, who spent a few hours getting his teeth repaired after a practice accident.
Kelly said his two front teeth “disintegrated in his mouth” after he tumbled face-first into the boards during Saturday’s practice. The local dentist called upon to work on Kelly used his 12-year-old son as an assistant while Kelly had several teeth bonded.
“He was a nice guy who was nice enough to do it on a Saturday,” Kelly said of the dentist. “He actually couldn’t get hold of any of his assistants, so he had his 12-year-old son to start and he had a hockey game in a couple of hours. Nice people here [in Minnesota]. The two that I lost, they just ended up bonding them together.
“It’s never easy losing your teeth. They just basically disintegrated in my mouth and I was spitting them out all over the ice. I think I got hit by a couple of pucks that day too, so I guess it’s just the way the day was going.”
Kelly is suited up and ready to play for the Bruins against the Wild this afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center.
5 years after boy dies from toothache, Maryland Medicaid dental care is on mend – Washington Post
In 2007, Maryland’s Medicaid dental-care program came under fire after a Prince George’s County boy died from an untreated tooth infection that spread lethal bacteria to his brain. Five years later, the same system that failed 12-year-old Deamonte Driver is now touted as one of the best in the nation, officials said Wednesday at a children’s dental care panel on Capitol Hill.
Health-care representatives from across the country addressed the state of children’s dental care at the event hosted by Pew’s Children’s Dental Care campaign. Maryland’s efforts at reform, spurred in large part by Deamonte’s death, received top marks in a 2011 Pew Charitable Trusts report released in May.
During the hearing, which became emotional at times, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) pointed out that Deamonte would have been 17 this year, “but he’s gone,” Cummings said. “No more birthdays, no more Christmas, no graduation from high school. Gone.”
“His sun went down as it was still day,” he added.
An abscess in Driver’s tooth spread to his brain, and six weeks and two neural surgeries later he was dead. An $ 80 tooth extraction could have saved his life.
Deamonte’s death exposed a disjointed dental-care program in the state: Thousands of Maryland children weren’t connecting with Medicaid-sponsored dentists, and those dentists were receiving little reimbursement for treating Medicaid patients. The year before Driver died, just one-third of Maryland’s more than 500,000 Medicaid-covered children had received dental-care treatment.
Fast forward to 2010, the most recent year for which Pew has released dental-care data, and almost 42 percent of Medicaid-enrolled children in Maryland were getting dental treatment. Last year, Maryland became one of only five states that Pew awarded an “A” for reimbursement of dental fees accrued when treating Medicaid patients.
“We were all pretty much put on our heels by Deamonte’s death,” said Harry Goodman, who took over as director of oral health for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene shortly after Driver died. “But I think that we’ve really been fueled by the emotion of that event to change things, and we’re contuing to move forward.”
When Deamonte first became sick his mother, Alyce Driver, was searching in vain for a dentist for her other son, who was suffering from six rotted teeth. With her Medicaid lapsed, the family’s struggle to find a dentist was compounded by stretches of homelessness, a lack of transportation and trouble maintaining a consistent phone number or mailing address.
Congressional hearings held in the wake of Deamonte’s death led then-Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene John M. Colmers to create the Maryland Dental Action Coalition.
When the state reauthorized its Children’s Health Insurance Program in 2009, it added coverage for children in a slightly higher income bracket than those covered under Medicaid.
Pew also launched a national Children’s Dental Campaign to assess and help improve prevention and treatment across the country.
Alyce Driver worked to become a dental assistant, Cummings said. She graduated from a training program last year and now assists a dentist in Capitol Heights who works with the Deamonte Driver Dental Project to provide grass-roots treatment to Medicaid patients.
“Through his death his mother got a new life,” Cummings said.
